Pompton Plains, NJ native, 18 y.o. Stephen Machak is the recipient of the 2017 Spring ABC Medical scholarship for his leadership skills and the competitiveness he has examplified throughout his application. Congratulations Stephen Machak!

As an honors student and "a multi-sports athlete," Stephen has been playing adaptive sports since he was 5. He joined the Children's Lightning Wheels PSC for track & field and added wheelchair basketball shortly after.

Let me start this blog with my position as it relates to the topic at hand. The NWBA has not focused on its history and much has been lost by our ‘here and now’ league. We have very little connection to our past and it’s a huge problem to me but better saved for another DK blog. Having said that I want to start with a little history.

Congratulations to Chance Boyd!!!  Wheelchair basketball athlete from Atlanta, GA was just awarded a scholarship from ABC Medical after submitting his application during NWBT 2017.  Chance is a senior at Lakeside High School and has received acceptances from the top colleges in the U.S. Chance's incredible work ethic and positive outlook on life are inspiring.
